Emil is a software engineer who has been writing code for over 20 years. He has an M.S. in computer science from U.C. Berkeley where he focused on security and cryptography. In past roles, he’s been the first engineer in a company, bootstrapped web stacks using Ruby and Node, worked on the internals of JavaEE implementations, built data pipelines, and led teams of other developers. These roles include having been a Principal Engineer at Lookout and Head of Engineering at Haus.
He is strongly committed to advancing inclusion, diversity, representation, and opportunity in tech and beyond. Outside of work, Emil is an aspiring guitar player and builds various things out of wood, metal, and/or electronics.
