Binti and Daunte Culpepper Champion Bold Action to Reduce Children Entering Child Welfare on Capitol Hill
July 24th, 2025
Washington, D.C. – Binti, a mission-driven technology company that builds software for child welfare agencies, joined NFL legend Daunte Culpepper on Capitol Hill this week to discuss how bold action can drastically reduce the number of children entering foster care each year – speaking with a group of over 30 representatives and congressional staffers.
By expanding in-home prevention services to stabilize families before a crisis and prioritizing placements with relatives and friends of the family when separation is necessary, it is possible to significantly reduce foster care entries.
Culpepper was himself adopted by a connection when he was one day old and shared his thoughts on how federal action can help the roughly 200,000 children who enter foster care every year.
“When I meet with these vulnerable kids, I see a little bit of myself in each of them. I was there,” said Culpepper. “How many future All-Pro quarterbacks, cancer scientists, Presidents, are out there, waiting for a stable environment where they can thrive? We need to help underresourced parents keep their kids safe, and make it easy for agencies to find familiar faces to take over if a new home is needed.”
Binti believes technology can be part of the answer. Binti’s Service Referral Management solution enables caseworkers to more effectively route families to prevention services, reducing the number of children who enter foster care. If separating a child from the home is necessary, Binti’s Family Finding solution helps caseworkers locate relatives and trusted community members – to either take in the child or be supportive adults in the child’s life.
“We’re excited to continue to be part of the conversation around how we can reduce children entering child welfare,” said Felicia Curcuru, CEO and Founder of Binti. “By leveraging technology, we can save social workers time, empower them to keep more families together, and help them find more relatives or friends of the family to take in children.”
Binti partners with over 550 agencies across 36 states, including 12 statewide systems, and has served more than 100,000 families.
