Jane is a staff software engineer at Binti. After graduating from Middlebury College with a degree in Geography, she worked for a couple years as a data researcher at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., where she examined the geography of poverty and access to social services in major U.S. metropolitan areas. She was struck by the consistent policy recommendation that cities invest in technological solutions to help bolster access to social services and wondered if she couldn’t make a more direct impact on reaching that goal. So, she moved to the Bay Area and attended Hackbright Academy, an intensive coding school for women. Since then, she has worked as an engineer at two mission-driven technology companies operating at the intersection of the public and private sectors, most recently at Clover Health. Jane is beyond excited to join Binti and work to improve the foster care system, a critical social service delivered by counties and states.
When she’s not at work, you can find Jane trail running or frolicking in the East Bay parks, listening to music, drawing, reading, or taking her cat, Olive, on a walk around the block.
